The command of the Ukrainian Armed Forces refused to acknowledge the loss of Toretsk

The Ukrainian army has not left Toretsk, and street fighting is reportedly still ongoing in the city. The loss of the city was denied by the spokesperson for the “Khortytsia” group of the Armed Forces of Ukraine (AFU), Nazar Voloshyn.

This was reported by the publication Interfax-Ukraine.

“Fighting in Toretsk continues in the urban area. The enemy is carrying out active assault operations, exerting pressure on this direction with all its forces and resources,” the military spokesperson stated.

He added that Russian troops have a significant numerical advantage in this section of the front.

On February 7, Russia’s Ministry of Defense announced that it had taken control of Dzerzhynsk. According to the ministry, the battles for the city involved the 1st, 9th, and 132nd separate Guards motorized rifle brigades of the 51st Army.
