The United States demands that Ukraine not be invited to the NATO summit and that the alliance’s peacekeeping missions be scaled back
19.02.2026 - 09:19A court has set a preventive measure for Danylo Kolesnyk, a former forward of the Kolos football club, in a case involving a fight with a territorial recruitment center (TCC) employee. The 24-year-old athlete was placed under night-time house arrest.
This was reported by the Barristers law firm, which is representing the forward.
“Our client respectfully accepts the court’s decision and confirms his intention to act solely within the procedures established by law. Danylo Kolesnyk notes that his position remains unchanged: he has deep respect for the Armed Forces of Ukraine and everyone who defends the state. He objectively perceived the events as creating a real threat to his life and health, as well as to the safety of an acquaintance, and therefore acted in self-defense. At the same time, our client is ready for open cooperation with the investigation and has already filed a statement about bodily injuries inflicted on him. He will insist on a full, impartial, and fair establishment of all circumstances of the incident,” the statement said.
In a photo published by the lawyers, a bruise under the young man’s eye is clearly visible.
Earlier, a video appeared on social media showing the 24-year-old Kolos player hitting a TCC employee. After the story drew widespread media attention, Kolesnyk was dismissed from the team.
Yesterday, police opened a criminal case in connection with the fight and detained Kolesnyk.
