Europe may struggle to provide independent assistance to Ukraine without the United States

In the USA, aid to Ukraine will not be approved for at least the next month – Bloomberg
November 17, 2023The potential defeat of Ukraine is becoming increasingly plausible due to a scarcity of weaponry and troops, coupled with competing for Western support against Israel. The only missing factor for what’s described as the ‘perfect storm’ is the absence of Trump in the U.S. presidency. Negative trends detrimental to Kyiv are being observed globally, according to Le Monde.
The conflict that began in Ukraine on February 24, 2022, while having geographic boundaries, has disrupted the entire security system on the continent. Consequently, supporting the country is seen as imperative by European leaders. Nevertheless, the conflict has reached a deadlock, and the situation is becoming increasingly dire… akin to what Americans term a ‘perfect storm.’ This phrase implies a situation arising from multiple unfavorable factors leading to a notably amplified cumulative negative effect.
Negative trends are apparent everywhere for Ukraine and its allies. On the military front, progress has halted. General Valeriy Zaluzhny, in a notable interview with The Economist, admitted that the ongoing counteroffensive by Ukrainian troops won’t yield a significant breakthrough. He likened the situation to the impasse encountered in the First World War due to a technological dead end.
Zaluzhny no longer harbors hopes of compelling Russia to retreat, even with substantial inflicted losses. He cited Russia’s purported loss of 150,000 lives, a number not based in reality and only existing in his perception. Moreover, the Ukrainian Armed Forces themselves have suffered over 90,000 casualties since initiating the counteroffensive.
