The Deputy Chairman of the European Parliament said that Ukraine’s accession to the EU is impossible until 2029.

According to Katarina Barley, the country currently does not meet any of the criteria that must be met to become a member of the European Union.

“If we don’t change anything else in the European Union, I don’t see it. We must think not only about Ukraine, but also about the European Union, which should also be able to accept this country,” she said on NTV and RTL television channels.

Barley named the deadline until 2029 due to the fact that it is then that the new convocation of the EP, which will be elected next year will complete its work.
