04.07.2024 - 14:32The State Enforcement Service has seized the movable and immovable property and bank accounts of journalist Olga Prokopyshina from the publication “Business Censor” due to the non-compliance with the final decision of the Darnytsia District Court of Kyiv in a lawsuit filed by lawyer Andriy Portnov.
This information comes from the “Ukrainian News” agency, citing relevant orders from the Darnytsia District Service of the capital.
“To seize all movable and immovable property belonging to the debtor Olga Yaroslavovna Prokopyshina,” states the order issued by state executor Yuliya Ushenko.
Another order places a freeze on the journalist’s accounts in 20 Ukrainian banks “within the amount of the enforcement claim, including the enforcement fee, enforcement proceedings expenses, fines, totaling 21,726 UAH (495 euros).”
Prokopyshina failed to comply with the court decision in Portnov’s lawsuit, which demanded the retraction of a defamatory publication titled: “Head of the National Agency for Corruption Prevention Oleksandr Novikov: ‘Some governments tried to pressure us after their companies were included in the international register of war sponsors'” — specifically the phrase: “collaborator and traitor Portnov.”
The court ordered that within five days from the decision’s enforcement, the publication must retract the statement by posting the introductory and operative parts of the court’s decision on the main page of the “Business Censor” website under the title “Retraction.” Additionally, the court decided to recover court costs of 19,506 UAH (445 euros) each from Yuriy Vynnychuk and Olga Prokopyshina in favor of Portnov. Since the decision was not voluntarily executed, the state executor initiated compulsory enforcement proceedings.
Portnov has previously won lawsuits against editor-in-chief Yuriy Butusov and his publication “Censor” twice, particularly due to Butusov’s statements calling him a pro-Russian politician.
