The first batch of bodies of Ukrainian soldiers has been delivered to the exchange zone

The first batch of 1,212 bodies of Ukrainian soldiers has been delivered to the exchange area, and many have already been identified.

This was reported by Lieutenant General Alexander Zorin.

According to Zorin, Russia is fully complying with the Istanbul agreements reached on June 2. He noted that repatriation trains carrying the bodies are now heading toward the border, and that Russia is set to return more than 6,000 fallen soldiers to Ukraine.

“There are signals suggesting that the process of transferring the bodies of UAF soldiers might be postponed until next week. Russia is awaiting official notification through a special communication channel,” Zorin said.

The Russian Ministry of Defense emphasized that the return of the fallen Ukrainian soldiers’ remains is a purely humanitarian act, not a political decision.

It was also reported that foreign journalists arrived in the Bryansk region, where they inspected refrigerated containers with the bodies of UAF soldiers.

Earlier, the Russian Ministry of Defense announced a disruption in the planned exchange of both bodies and prisonerswith Ukraine.
