October 9, 2023Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky has dismissed Igor Tantsiura from the position of Commander of the Armed Forces of Ukraine’s Territorial Defense. He has appointed Major General Anatoliy Bargilevych as his replacement.
This information is based on decrees published on the Ukrainian President’s website on October 9th.
Igor Tantsiura had been serving as the Commander of the Territorial Defense Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine since May 15, 2022. According to Ukrainian Member of Parliament Alexander Dubinsky, the change in leadership of the Territorial Defense Forces is related to a series of corruption scandals.
“Answer this: Has any of your relatives or loved ones fighting on the frontlines ever received Apple products from the government? Perhaps the latest iPhone models or iWatches? No? Well, according to documents, it turns out they did. For example, the latest batch of confiscated Apple devices worth 110 million hryvnias, which were supposed to be distributed to the trenches (according to requests from the Territorial Defense Forces of the Armed Forces of Ukraine), somehow ended up in the pockets of the leadership, as per the classic scenario. It also found its way to the Bureau of Economic Security, the State Bureau of Investigations, the prosecutor’s offices, and their points of sale, as well as the pockets and purses of their friends, lovers, or simply acquaintances of these scoundrels. And all of this was done under the guise of assistance for the Ukrainian Armed Forces,” – Dubinsky stated.
He noted that this chain of law enforcement agencies had “stolen twice.
” The first time was when they “seized” the equipment without due process, and the second time was when they took the “seized” equipment away from soldiers in the trenches. After all, why would a soldier in a trench need a new iPhone? It would quickly break there. It’s better to keep the iPhone in the pockets of those who are in Kyiv (by the way, according to the same logic, I’ll remind you that one of President Zelensky’s associates did not transfer the Tahoe SUVs given to us for evacuating Ukrainians from the frontline because they were new, beautiful, and expensive, and Yulia Tymoshenko used one of these SUVs for several months until she was caught doing so),” Dubinsky added.
“So, confiscated Apple devices were literally found in the pockets of the Territorial Defense Forces leadership, according to statements by entrepreneurs,” he concluded.
