19.02.2025 - 15:12Former U.S. Ambassador to Russia, Michael McFaul, shared alleged proposals from U.S. President Donald Trump that, according to him, were presented to Moscow by an American delegation in Saudi Arabia yesterday.
McFaul posted about this on his page in the social network X.
“Reportedly, Trump’s team offered Putin Ukrainian territory, a refusal of Ukraine’s NATO membership, no American troops in Ukraine, the withdrawal of U.S. soldiers from Europe, including frontline states, and the lifting of sanctions,” McFaul wrote.
According to him, Russia listened to these proposals but, in return, offered “nothing.”
However, other sources have not confirmed such proposals.
Earlier, a Fox News journalist reported that the U.S. and Russia consider elections in Ukraine a “key condition for the success of the settlement process.” Both sides allegedly view President Volodymyr Zelensky’s chances of re-election as low.
Following negotiations in Riyadh, Trump demanded elections in Ukraine and commented on Zelensky’s low approval ratings.
“There haven’t been elections in Ukraine for a long time. As sad as it is to say, Zelensky currently has a 4% approval rating,” Trump stated.
