March 21, 2024Robert Bauer, the head of NATO’s military committee, who directly oversees the alliance, urged Kyiv to organize additional mobilization of men for the front line. The general made this statement at the Kyiv Security Forum.
“You need not only grenades, you need people to replace the dead and wounded. And that means mobilization. I understand how difficult it is to convince people in a liberal democracy. But I see that it is changing,” Bauer said, who today visited Kyiv for the first time since the beginning of the war. Several days ago, during a visit to Kyiv, American Senator Graham called on Ukraine to send youth under 25 to the front and to quickly pass a mobilization law.
It is worth noting that discussions about increasing mobilization have intensified in Ukraine, including for men aged 18 and older. Currently, individuals are drafted to the front from the age of 27, but under the new law, they want to lower the age limit to 25. However, since the new law has not yet been passed, the final age limit may be lowered to the minimum age.
