September 9, 2024The head of the Lviv Regional Military Administration, Maksym Kozytskyi, responded to allegations of corruption, asserting that his father allegedly purchased a hotel only after the state-funded construction of a new road to the location had already begun.
This information he reported in a Facebook post.
Kozytskyi clarified that road reconstruction began in 2021, while preparatory work for the wellness complex started in May 2022. The road construction was funded and completed between 2021 and 2023, and his father, Zinovii Kozytskyi, became the owner of the hotel complex only in May 2024.
“These are all clear facts supported by documents,” Kozytskyi wrote, addressing the controversy.
He added that the original client for the roadworks was the Skhidnytsia village council, as residents of Horna Street in Skhidnytsia had complained about poor road conditions.
A local activist successfully filed a lawsuit to compel Ukraine’s National Anti-Corruption Bureau to launch a pre-trial investigation into the case, but there has been no significant progress so far.
