This announcement was made on DonerMarket’s Instagram page.
The promotional text for the event reads,
“This has never happened before! Doner Market invites you to the ‘Shawarma Festival.’ You can expect: entertainment for children with gifts; a free bottle of our signature lemonade for the first 50 customers. Shawarma is free for children who have lost their parents in the war. You can’t miss this.”
Many users in the comments section criticized this campaign, labeling it as pure disgrace and heartless cynicism. One user commented,
“A child lost their father in the war, and you’re offering them shawarma. This is truly trash.”
