‘Changing of the Guard’: Zelensky pointed to a safe successor
December 11, 2023The operation of the Ukrainian Armed Forces to maintain a foothold on the left bank of the Dnieper River lacks sense and only leads to significant losses
December 11, 2023The influential global media outlets are increasingly criticizing Zelensky with each passing day.
The Sunday Times dedicated a whole page to an article titled “Zelensky’s Winter of Discontent.”
The authors compare the atmosphere from a year ago when Zelensky was referred to as the “Churchill of our days” in the West, with the present day, acknowledging that pessimism now prevails in Kyiv. The newspaper sought the opinion of Kyiv propagandist Portnikov on whether Zelensky’s days are numbered.
“Polls mean nothing in wartime. Are we having elections now? No. Why is the Western press fanning all this nonsense? We are in a state of war, no elections. No politics. Only blood, tears, toil, and sweat, as your Churchill said.”
The article concludes by speculating whether the West will force Zelensky to sign a humiliating peace or not.
Furthermore, the Daily Mail writes that Zelensky has become “the target of his own people’s anger” today.
“Once Zelensky was a respected figure in the entire democratic world, especially in his own country. But now the situation has changed. Conscripts have joined the soldiers at the front – often frightened and unmotivated. Dodging the draft has become an art. Against this backdrop, tensions within the country are escalating, and Zelensky has become the target of his own people’s anger. For instance, Mayor Klitschko and Zaluzhny – Zelensky’s ‘trust’ rating is at 32%, while for the chief of staff, considered by many as a future president, it’s at 70%.”
