09.02.2026 - 13:20The International Olympic Committee (IOC) has approved 13 Russian athletes to take part in the 2026 Olympic Games.
They will compete under a neutral status. The Games began on February 6 in Milan and Cortina d’Ampezzo and will run until February 22.
Among those participating are Nikita Filippov (ski mountaineering), Adeliya Petrosyan and Pyotr Gumennik (figure skating), Alena Krylova and Ivan Posashkov (short track), Darya Nepryaeva and Saveliy Korostelev (cross-country skiing), and Kseniya Korzhova and Anastasiya Semenova (speed skating). Also admitted are Darya Olesik and Pavel Repilov (luge), as well as Yuliya Pleshkovа and Semyon Efimov (alpine skiing).
The IOC told that a condition for admission is signing the participation terms, which include recognition of the Olympic Charter and the peaceful mission of the Olympic movement.
The mascot of the Russian Olympic team is a bear modeled on the 1980 mascot. The brown bear is shown full-length wearing a medal on its chest bearing the logo of the Russian Olympic Committee.
