The Kremlin assessed the time needed to resolve the Ukrainian conflict

A resolution of the conflict in Ukraine that would eliminate its root causes and be sustainable is unlikely to be achieved within a short timeframe. Time is needed to reach peace.

This was stated by Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov.

“This issue is so complex that, of course, it is not worth setting strict time limits or trying to fit a viable resolution into a short period. That would be a futile effort,” said the press secretary of the Russian leader.

He added that work on finding settlement scenarios is ongoing. Moscow is studying both American and Ukrainian initiatives.

On April 20, Volodymyr Zelensky spoke about the possibility of extending the ceasefire after the conclusion of the Easter truce. He also proposed a halt to any long-range drone and missile strikes on civilian infrastructure for a period of at least 30 days.
