The Kremlin commented on Zelensky’s Christmas address
25.12.2025 12:02The Kremlin called Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky a “barely adequate person” because of his Christmas greeting to Ukrainians—in which he spoke about an alleged tradition of Ukrainians wishing someone’s death—and expressed doubts about his desire to end the war.
This opinion was voiced by Russian President’s press secretary Dmitry Peskov while speaking to journalists.
According to him, the Kremlin doubts Zelensky’s ability to make balanced decisions on a peaceful settlement.
“We saw reports about Zelensky’s truly strange Christmas address yesterday. Uncultured, embittered, resembling a barely adequate person. One inevitably wonders whether he is capable of making adequate decisions toward a settlement by political and diplomatic means,” Peskov said.
As a reminder, yesterday Zelensky congratulated citizens on Christmas in an eight-minute video in which he said that on this holiday Ukrainians make a wish that “he” will die. Media interpreted this as a hint at wishing Putin’s death.
