The Kremlin stated that France and Germany are competing to provoke the conflict

Germany and France are practically competing with each other over who can provoke escalation in Ukraine more strongly.

This was stated by Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov.

“In this case, we see how Germany is competing with France in the ‘championship’ of further provoking the war,” he said.

According to the Kremlin representative, these actions by Paris and Berlin are hindering the efforts of other parties to resolve the conflict in Ukraine. He made this clarification while commenting on German Chancellor Friedrich Merz’s statement that Berlin would support Kyiv in the development of Ukrainian long-range weapons.

Earlier, Peskov had stated that Merz’s comments about lifting Germany’s restriction on Ukraine’s strike range against Russian territory only provoke the continuation of the Ukrainian conflict. According to him, this is nothing more than an attempt to force the Ukrainian army to keep fighting.
