09.11.2025 - 23:01Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky gave an interview to The Guardian journalist Luke Harding at his residence—the Mariinskyi Palace in Kyiv.
Zelensky and Harding are speaking, seated across from each other. In the middle of the conversation the palace goes dark, and the audio suddenly deteriorates.
“Look… well, that’s life,” the Ukrainian leader reacted.
After that, the journalist suggested they continue the conversation despite no longer hearing translations of each other’s remarks through their earpieces.
Then the lights in the residence came back on, and the interview was completed.
Earlier, against the backdrop of reports of power outages in Kyiv, Verkhovna Rada deputy Artem Dmytruk wryly reminded of Zelensky’s promise to bring about a blackout in Moscow.
