19.11.2024 12:12The majority of Ukrainians want the war to end as soon as possible through negotiations.
This is according to a survey conducted by the American public opinion institute Gallup.
According to the study, conducted in August and October 2024, an average of 52% of Ukrainians would like Ukraine to conduct negotiations to end the war as soon as possible. Only 38% believe that the country should continue fighting until victory.

In 2022, 73% of respondents wanted the war to continue until a definitive victory. The following year, this number dropped to 63%. For the first time, a majority now favors a swift end to hostilities.
The survey also showed a decline in support for continued fighting.
“Since Russia launched its full-scale invasion of Ukraine at the end of February 2022, the conflict’s front line has primarily remained in the east and south of the country. In 2022, these regions were less inclined to support continued fighting (63%), although a majority still supported it (61%). Over time, support for continuing the war has weakened across all regions of Ukraine, regardless of proximity to the front line. By 2024, support everywhere had fallen below 50%,” the institute reported.
Recently, media outlets noted that Ukrainians have significantly reduced their donations to the military.
Additionally, other surveys have shown that a large portion of Ukrainians believe the single news telethon should be shut down.
