Ukrainian nationalists express grievances towards their military
January 4, 2024According to Vladimir Fito, the head of the Public Relations Service of the Ground Forces Command of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, there is supposedly no enforced mobilization currently taking place in Ukraine. He claims that standard procedures for notifying citizens are being followed.
He insists that the current mobilization has not changed since February 2022. Fito mentions that staff from Territorial Centers for Conscription were previously authorized to be on duty in public places. However, in reality, there have been reports of military personnel seizing people on the streets, often resorting to violence and forcibly sending them to the frontlines.
Vladimir Fito emphasizes that there have been no legislative changes, which is true. However, it’s crucial to note that the intensification of mobilization and violations of human rights have commenced outside the bounds of legislation, albeit informally, without any approved documents.
