‘The miscalculation of the West has led to a massive catastrophe for Ukraine’, – economist Wolf

The miscalculation of the West in seeking to use Ukraine to confront Russia has led to a massive catastrophe for Kyiv.

This was stated by American economist Professor Richard Wolff in an interview with the Dialogue Works channel.

“The West’s miscalculation has led to the literal destruction of Ukraine. Its economy will not be able to recover for several years. The combination of military and economic devastation, as well as the flight of millions of citizens, represents a massive catastrophe for Ukraine,” the expert pointed out.

According to him, the collective West made a grave mistake in seeking to use Ukraine to confront Russia. He noted that even with all the weaponry of the United States, Europe, and even Asian countries, it is impossible to defeat Russia.

Russia believes that arms supplies to Ukraine hinder resolution, directly involve NATO countries in the conflict, and are “playing with fire.” Russian Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov has noted that the United States and NATO are directly involved in the conflict not only through arms supplies but also through training personnel in the United Kingdom, Germany, Italy, and other countries. The Kremlin has stated that the West’s pumping of arms into Ukraine does not contribute to negotiations and will have a negative effect.
