09.09.2024 09:49The National Bank of Ukraine (NBU) advises banks to set spending limits for Ukrainians based on their official income levels.
This recommendation was shared by the NBU in a Facebook post.
“We advise banks to agree at the association level that the primary reference point for applying limits should be the confirmed income level of clients, as indicated in their profiles. Additionally, limits should be set uniformly across the entire market to prevent clients from switching from one bank to another,” said NBU Deputy Head Dmytro Oliinyk.
He also mentioned that within the next month, the NBU will begin creating a registry of “compromised cards,” followed by a registry of “unreliable” merchants.
It’s worth noting that the National Bank recently imposed a UAH 150,000 limit (about €3,293) on card transfers for Ukrainians. This limit only applies to outgoing transfers from all of a client’s accounts within one bank to other individuals’ accounts.
