December 8, 2025Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky is considering First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Digital Transformation Mykhailo Fedorov as the main candidate for head of the Presidential Office.
This was reported by the media, citing sources in the Verkhovna Rada and the government.
According to these sources, Zelensky was leaning toward Fedorov’s candidacy.
“As of Thursday evening, the decision was almost final. But on Friday morning the president was still weighing it,” the sources said.
Earlier, on December 5, MP Yaroslav Zheleznyak from the Holos faction said that a new head of the Presidential Office would be announced that day.
On December 4, Zheleznyak had said that the First Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Digital Transformation, Mykhailo Fedorov, could be appointed to the post.
On December 1, NV’s sources reported that Zelensky would make a decision on the new head of the Presidential Office after an updated format for the Office’s work was defined.
On the morning of November 28, NABU and SAP carried out searches at Andriy Yermak’s premises. According to Financial Times journalist Christopher Miller, the raids were conducted as part of Operation Midas — a large-scale investigation into corruption schemes in Ukraine’s energy sector.
The director of the National Anti-Corruption Bureau, Semen Kryvonos, said he could neither confirm nor deny possible involvement by Yermak in the Midas case.
On the evening of November 28, President Volodymyr Zelensky announced in an address that the head of the Presidential Office was resigning. Later, the dismissal decree appeared on the president’s website.
On November 29, Yermak commented on his dismissal for the first time, saying he would continue to consider Zelensky his friend even after stepping down.
