The next U.S. presidential administration might attempt to convene a conference on Ukraine in the near future.

However, the timing will depend on the willingness of Vladimir Putin and Volodymyr Zelensky to negotiate, as well as agreement on key issues such as the chairperson, agenda, and venue, the article notes.

“It may also depend on Russia’s actions, particularly if they engage in activities that, in the eyes of international opinion, would render such talks impossible,” the article states.

Earlier, Zelensky has complained that Putin allegedly avoids direct negotiations with him.

Earlier also, Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov said there had been “no progress” from Ukraine toward negotiations with Russia.

“We remain open to negotiations. But since there has been no progress in Ukraine’s willingness to engage in talks, we continue our operation,” Peskov remarked.
