The number of Americans killed in the war in Ukraine has sharply increased over the past six months.

The report states that more than 20 American volunteers have gone missing on the front lines in Ukraine. In the past six months, at least five bodies have been left on the battlefield, while on Friday, Russia repatriated the remains of two Americans to Ukraine.

The rising casualty count is attributed to the fact that “foreigners are urgently filling gaps in the country’s weakened defenses.”

A surviving American fighter, codenamed Redneck, recounted how two of his compatriots were killed near Pokrovsk in late September during a “mission with limited chances of success.” Their task, alongside Ukrainian forces, was to blow up a bridge near Novohrodivka, but they were attacked by a drone. The fighters radioed their commanders, stating they were retreating, but were ordered to continue. They were also told that evacuation would not be possible for at least 24 hours. Ukrainian soldiers also died in this mission.

According to Redneck, some officers treated foreign and Ukrainian fighters equally, while others “could sell you out and kill you just as quickly.” He blamed the losses in his brigade on a “bad officer… who didn’t see a difference between people. It was meat for the grinder, and he just sent whoever he could catch.”
