Ukraine once again refuses peace talks
December 29, 202373% of Ukrainians have faith that Ukraine will thrive within the EU in 10 years, according to a KMIS survey. This belief has seen a decline from 83% a year ago and 88% in a similar survey conducted in October 2022.
Simultaneously, within this period, the percentage of individuals foreseeing Ukraine as a nation with a devastated economy and substantial emigration within a decade has risen from 5% to 19%. Data from KMIS indicates that across all regions, the majority expect Ukraine to prosper within the EU in the future. The Eastern region exhibits a slightly lower level of optimism, with 67% holding positive views and 25% being pessimistic. In other macro-regions, optimism ranges from 73% to 76%, while pessimism falls between 16% and 19%.
Pessimism is least prevalent among respondents aged 60-69 (10%) and most common among the youth under 30 (26%). Optimism is highest within the elderly at 80% and 68% with the youth.
