02.01.2025 11:29The past year has been the most devastating for Ukraine’s energy system.
This was stated by the Minister of Energy, Herman Galushchenko.
“The destruction was very extensive, much greater than in previous years. The nature of the attacks has changed, their complexity, and the weapons used. Therefore, it was indeed the most difficult year for the energy system,” said the Minister of Energy.
It is worth noting that Oleksandr Kharchenko, the director of the Energy Research Center, believes that power outages in Ukraine will continue for another 2-3 years.
Earlier, European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen stated that half of Ukraine’s energy infrastructure had been destroyed since the beginning of the war. During the war, the European Union has provided Ukraine with more than €2 billion in aid to restore bombed power plants, transformers, and power lines.
