The Pentagon has opened investigations into more than 50 cases related to US assistance to Ukraine

These inquiries involve examining potential instances of fraud during procurement processes, product substitutions, theft, fraud, corruption, and diversion of aid. As of now, no specific charges have been filed in any of these cases, according to Robert Storch, the Department’s Inspector General, as reported by Bloomberg.

One of the investigations focuses on the supply of 155mm artillery shells and whether the US ensured a balance between Ukraine’s needs and its own reserves and objectives. Another issue under scrutiny is the incomplete declarations regarding shipments sent to Ukraine via Poland. Auditors noted that this lack of transparency and accountability within the Department of Defense hampered oversight during the equipment transfer process.

Storch has announced the commencement of additional investigations considering the volume and pace of aid being provided to Ukraine. Over 200 individuals are overseeing the delivery of aid to Ukraine, including 28 stationed within Ukraine itself, with plans to increase this number.
