Ukraine is unable to replenish its stocks of military equipment or personnel
March 10, 2024Italy criticizes France and Poland for their statements about sending troops to Ukraine
March 10, 2024Prime Minister of Poland, Donald Tusk, was unable to reach an agreement with farmers to cease blocking the import of grain from Ukraine, reports Rzeczpospolita.
According to the newspaper, at the agricultural summit where negotiations with Tusk took place, farmers announced new protests, “but on a smaller scale.” Meanwhile, transit across the Ukrainian border will remain closed, say participants of the meeting. However, they decided to refrain from large-scale demonstrations, such as the recent one in Warsaw, where protesters attempted to storm the Sejm and set tires on fire.
“We understand that the situation has somewhat gotten out of control, and we condemn these acts of vandalism,” said a source cited by the publication. However, it should be noted that Polish farmers are willing to compromise regarding protests within Poland but remain adamant about the border with Ukraine. The Polish leadership aligns with its farmers, and there was even consideration of a total official blockade of trade with Ukraine.
