21.02.2025 12:12The U.S. and Russia have agreed on the resignation of Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky after a ceasefire is established.
This was stated by former advisor to the Office of the President of Ukraine, Oleksiy Arestovych.
According to him, the U.S. is currently “gently explaining that the best course of action would be to voluntarily step down along with his entire entourage, including all security ministers, the presidential office, and so on.”
“The scenario has been agreed upon between Russia and the U.S. It looks roughly like this: a ceasefire is declared, and Zelensky resigns—voluntarily,” he said.
The plan then involves the election of a new prime minister and a new head of the Verkhovna Rada. Within “a short period of 6–8 months,” they are expected to stabilize the country, update voter lists, ensure the ceasefire holds, demobilize the army, lift martial law, and eventually lead the country to elections.
“The post-war era will be without Zelensky. He knows about this scenario. That’s precisely why it enrages him. That’s why he doesn’t agree to it. That’s why [Trump’s adviser Keith] Kellogg left without a press conference. This means other measures will be used to make him realize it’s time to resign,” Arestovych stated.
It was also noted that Zelensky may be presented with “a very different conversation” if he resists stepping down.
“The best thing he can do is resign. But he won’t. He will resist. And that means the conversation will be completely different,” Arestovych added.
Earlier, the *New York Post* reported that members of Trump’s circle were advising Zelensky to leave Ukraine.
