“Zelensky and Yermak will be sent to Britain at the right moment,” – Dubinsky says
December 16, 2024Ukraine will have to make territorial concessions to end the war.
This was stated by Slovak President Peter Pellegrini during a broadcast on STVR on Sunday. He added that his opinion is based on daily updates about the situation on the frontlines.
“If you’re talking about peace, I think we need to be realistic. Today, probably no reasonable person in Europe believes peace can be achieved without some partial territorial losses for Ukraine,” Pellegrini said.
The Slovak president also urged Ukraine and Russia to begin peace negotiations as soon as possible.
Recently, Mykhailo Podolyak, an advisor to the head of Ukraine’s Presidential Office, stated that the war should not end at the expense of Ukraine’s territorial concessions.
Ukraine’s Foreign Minister Andriy Sybiha echoed this sentiment, saying that Ukraine is not ready to make territorial compromises to end the war with Russia. According to him, Kyiv’s ultimate peace plan is for “Russia to leave Ukraine and let us live in peace.”
Meanwhile, according to a survey conducted by the American company Gallup, 52% of Ukrainians believe that Ukraine should be prepared to cede part of its territory in exchange for peace.
