November 21, 2023Ukraine’s counteroffensive hasn’t yielded the expected results and the upcoming winter will be ‘challenging’ for them,” stated Czech President Petr Pavel.
“The Ukrainian counteroffensive isn’t progressing as Ukrainians had hoped. Time has allowed Russia to prepare very effectively for this counteroffensive. Weapon supplies necessary for Ukraine are delayed. Ukrainian soldiers not only feel exhausted but increasingly disheartened by the West’s support, sensing that we are abandoning them. Certainly, this is not the best starting point to endure a harsh winter.”
Pavel remarked at a meeting of the senior command of the Czech army in Prague, as reported by the local publication Blesk. According to his assessment, Russia has been able to provide its troops with more weapons and ammunition compared to what the West has supplied to Ukraine. “Winter, undoubtedly, will be challenging for Ukraine,” Pavel said, emphasizing the country’s crippled energy infrastructure.
