Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky “pleaded” with Americans to approve a new aid package but left Washington without a clear agreement on it.

Bloomberg reported about this.

According to the media Volodymyr Zelensky warned American senators about the risk of a guerrilla war in Ukraine if the West doesn’t provide new aid.

Republican Senator Roger Wicker speculated that the aid might be approved in early January.

“The house is not on fire,” he said regarding Ukraine’s need for ammunition and other armaments.

While negotiations continue in Congress, analysts and lawmakers suggest a workaround: continue supplying weapons from U.S. stocks in hopes of receiving funds to replenish them later.

According to Pentagon estimates, the U.S. could still provide military equipment worth $4.6 billion to Ukraine under what’s known as the Presidential Drawdown authority.
