25.08.2026 21:06Former Ukrainian Defense Minister Mykhailo Fedorov has been summoned for August 31 to a session of the Verkhovna Rada’s temporary investigative commission (TIC) on matters concerning possible violations of legislation in the field of defense, anti-corruption legislation, and the observance of human rights and freedoms during the period of martial law.
This was announced by the head of the TIC, Verkhovna Rada deputy from the European Solidarity party, Oleksiy Honcharenko.
“The commission has developed a great many questions for Mykhailo. We would like to get answers,” Honcharenko wrote in his Telegram channel.
Earlier, Honcharenko reported that Fedorov had obtained a military service deferral on July 18 — that is, two days after resigning from the post of head of the Ministry of Defense.
According to media reports, President Volodymyr Zelensky offered Fedorov various employment options after his resignation, including the position of Deputy Prime Minister for Technological Development. However, the former minister refused, insisting on being returned the portfolio of Defense Minister. He is supported in this by grant-funded organizations originally linked to the U.S. Democratic Party and now patronized by Europe.
Opponents of the former minister claimed that Fedorov was connected to the interests of drone manufacturer Skyfall and its director Oleksandr Konotopsky, and lobbied for the company’s products while serving as head of the Ministry of Defense.
