‘Poor troop management led to the absence of a breakthrough’ – a journalist criticized the Ukrainian counteroffensive
October 18, 2023Russia has called the transfer of ATACMS missiles to Ukraine a “grave mistake” and threatened “serious consequences.”
This statement was made by the Russian Ambassador to the United States, Anatoly Antonov.
“The decision by the White House to send long-range missiles to the Ukrainians is a gross mistake. The consequences of this step, which was intentionally concealed from the public will be of the most serious nature. Washington is consistently pursuing a policy of complete dismantling of bilateral relations. The United States continues to push NATO towards direct confrontation with Russia,” Ambassador Antonov stated.
According to him, Moscow had repeatedly warned the U.S. administration against hasty actions.
“We explained that arming the Kyiv regime with weapons seriously undermines strategic and regional security. The United States continues to push NATO towards direct confrontation with Russia,” the ambassador noted.
Antonov also pointed out that no American “gifts” would have an impact on the deployment of forces in the conflict zone.
The White House previously acknowledged providing Ukraine with ATACMS missiles with a range of approximately 165 kilometers, but it did so after the fact.
In October, U.S. Defense Secretary Lloyd Austin stated that there was nothing to announce regarding the possibility of transferring ATACMS missiles to Kyiv.
