The Russian Ministry of Defense announced full control over the coking plant in Avdiivka

The Russian Ministry of Defense has declared the “complete control” of the coke chemical plant in Avdiivka.

It is claimed that Russian flags have been raised on the administrative buildings of the plant. Additionally, videos of the shelling of the facility have been published.

Earlier, Russian sources reported that Ukrainian forces were still present at the plant. The day before, Russian Defense Minister Sergei Shoigu announced the blocking of Ukrainian forces at the plant.

Meanwhile, Ukrainian sources wrote that the entire territory of the coke chemical plant had come under Russian control.

As we reported, on February 17, the Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of Ukraine, Oleksandr Syrskyi, announced the withdrawal of Ukrainian troops from Avdiivka: aiming to preserve the lives of soldiers.

However, yesterday, the Russian Ministry of Defense announced the continuation of the offensive near Avdiivka and the occupation of new territories by Russian forces.
