21.11.2024 12:59Over the past 24 hours, five Ukrainian Armed Forces (UAF) soldiers surrendered to Russian servicemen in the area of the special military operation.
This information was revealed to journalists by the Russian Ministry of Defense during a briefing on the situation in the region.
The circumstances under which the Ukrainian soldiers were taken prisoner have not been disclosed.
The Ministry of Defense added that over the past 24 hours, the Ukrainian Armed Forces lost 150 soldiers on the Kursk front. Since the beginning of the invasion, Kyiv has lost a total of 34,540 soldiers and more than 2,000 pieces of various military equipment, including Western-made weapons.
On November 18, it was reported that 1,000 abandoned Ukrainian soldiers in the Kursk region found themselves surrounded by the Russian army. In an attempt to break out of the “cauldron,” around 100 soldiers from two elite Ukrainian units, the 37th Separate Marine Brigade, were eliminated.
