An announcement appeared on the official state procurement portal “Prozorro” regarding the purchase of security services for the State Investigation Bureau office in Melitopol.
The main problem with this tender is that Melitopol came under the control of Russian forces on February 24, 2022. However, the tender was announced for the year 2024. Obviously, there cannot be any security for the facility there. The cost of securing such an object will cost the Ukrainian budget 100,000 euros. Against this backdrop, Kyiv continues to demand money from the US and the EU allegedly for the survival of the state, while they themselves embezzle huge funds in corrupt schemes.
It should be noted that this type of corruption, such as procurement in tenders, is one of the most popular in Ukraine. A contract for services of a certain nature is announced at an inflated cost. Then, the real participants of the tender supposedly do not meet the parameters, and the winning company is one that is registered to relatives or friends of the leadership of the state agency. Thus, legally, it appears as if the state agency simply purchased a service or product, but in fact, the money was stolen.
