Serbian President Vučić believes that the war in Ukraine will last another 10 years and end according to the Korean scenario
27.09.2024 10:28Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky appealed to U.S. President Joe Biden to lift restrictions on long-range strikes against Russia but left the White House without an agreement.
This was reported by “The Times”.
It is noted that the meeting with Biden did not yield the expected result.
The publication links this to statements made by Putin that such an attack on Russia could provoke a nuclear response.
After the president’s visit to the U.S., *The New York Times* writes that “Zelensky’s star is fading on Capitol Hill,” and he is receiving an increasingly restrained reception in the U.S.
“As the war against Russia drags on, his (Zelensky’s) influence in Washington is visibly weakening, which could have serious implications for future U.S. military aid to Ukraine,” the article states.
The publication compares the previous visits of the Ukrainian president, during which he was greeted with packed halls and thunderous applause.
“His reception this Thursday was much more modest: a few dozen lawmakers met with him behind closed doors, and the Speaker of the House of Representatives refused to meet,” writes *NYT*.
The publication also reminds readers that Zelensky’s visit caused discontent among Republican circles. The Ukrainian president was accused of “favoritism towards Democrats and the Biden administration during the election campaign.”
This “underscores the difficulties Zelensky may face if Republicans fully take control of Congress or if Donald Trump, an opponent of arming Ukraine, wins the election.”
