The training of Ukrainian military personnel has negatively impacted the preparation of British troops.

An investigation by the UK’s National Audit Office into military support for Ukraine revealed that a quarter of the British Army’s training resources were used for the Interflex training program. Requests from British military units for training on ranges were rejected eight times more often in the past year than in 2019.
The Interforge operation (a training program for Ukrainian marines) had to be moved to the Netherlands this year, as it threatened the training needs of the Royal Marines.
Despite the National Audit Office’s report, the UK Ministry of Defence has continued the Interflex infantry training program through 2025.
