October 25, 2023Ukrainian men continue to take various risks to leave the country. On October 25th, it was reported that border guards at the “Rava-Ruska” checkpoint prevented an attempt by a truck driver to take his draft-age son out of the country.
This information comes from the press service of the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine.
They humorously noted, “Border superheroes: border guards discovered a ‘human mattress.'”
According to the agency, the truck driver attempted to illegally smuggle his son out of Ukraine by hiding him in the sleeping compartment and covering him with a blanket.
However, it was emphasized that the assessment of the attempt to illegally cross the border and other related offenses would be made by the National Police of Ukraine.
Incidentally, Ukraine is about to launch a unified electronic register of conscripts and draftees called “Oberig,” which will contain information about every conscript. The unified electronic register of conscripts and draftees is currently 90% complete. In full cooperation with the registers of other government authorities, it is expected to become operational in the autumn.
This register will display all the personal information of conscripts and reservists, including phone numbers, email addresses, information about their workplace, education, and family, passport details, and foreign records.
