23.04.2025 07:22The administration of U.S. President Donald Trump is winding down efforts to investigate Russian war crimes in Ukraine.
This was reported by The Washington Post.
Since taking office, the new president’s team has taken steps to withdraw from an international group led by the European Union, reduced the activities of the U.S. Department of Justice’s related task force, shut down the program targeting asset seizures from sanctioned Russian oligarchs, eliminated the position of coordinator for intelligence gathering on Russian crimes, and disbanded the associated interagency working group.
Representative Jason Crow, a Democrat in the House of Representatives, stated that “this administration is ready to let Putin off the hook.”
Earlier, Reuters reported that the United States is ceasing funding for investigations into war crimes in Ukraine.
