The U.S. is awaiting Putin’s response to a peace plan agreed with Ukraine

The United States has reached agreement with Ukraine on “almost all aspects” of a peace plan and now wants Vladimir Putin’s response to the proposal.

This was reported by an Axios source following a meeting between Witkoff and Kushner and Putin’s special representative, Dmitriev.

Axios notes that the meeting with Putin’s envoy took place after two days of talks between Witkoff and Kushner and senior Ukrainian and European officials.

Kremlin special representative Dmitriev held talks yesterday in Paris at the U.S. Embassy, France’s Le Monde reported.

In recent days, Paris has hosted talks involving the United States, Ukraine, and the “coalition of the resolute.” The discussions covered territorial issues (Russia and, according to media reports, the U.S. as well, are demanding that Kyiv withdraw troops from Donetsk region) and security guarantees for Ukraine.

On the U.S. side, the talks involved President Trump’s envoy Witkoff, the president’s son-in-law Kushner, and White House official Josh Gruenbaum. It appears Dmitriev held talks with one of them.

“These talks focused on two main sticking points: security guarantees for Ukraine and possible territorial concessions by Ukraine in the eastern Donbas region,” Axios writes.
