The U.S. may disable Starlink in Ukraine if a mineral resources deal is not reached

U.S. negotiators reportedly warned Ukraine that Starlink access could be cut off if a deal on critical mineral resources was not reached.

This was reported by Reuters, citing sources.

The continuation of Ukraine’s access to *Starlink* was discussed during negotiations between American and Ukrainian representatives after Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky rejected the initial proposal from U.S. Treasury Secretary Scott Bessent.

“Ukraine was made aware that *Starlink* access could be immediately cut off if a deal on critical minerals was not reached,” the agency reported.

The issue was reportedly raised again on Thursday during a meeting between Trump’s adviser Keith Kellogg and Zelensky.

“Losing Starlink would be a devastating blow to the Ukrainian Armed Forces,” Reuters noted.

Earlier, volunteer Maria Berlinska warned that Elon Musk could shut down Starlink on the front lines at any moment, leading to significant Ukrainian losses.

Western media have previously reported that without U.S. military aid, Ukraine would be able to resist Russia for no more than six months, as Europe is not capable of replacing American support.
