The U.S. State Department has called on Ukraine and Russia to “step up their efforts” to end the war.

“President Trump continues to work on ending the Russian-Ukrainian war. Using America’s economic power to achieve results in the negotiation process is one of his many options. Both sides must intensify their efforts to fully end the conflict,” the State Department spokesperson wrote.

It is worth noting that, according to The New York Times, the idea of a bilateral summit between Donald Trump and Vladimir Putin is being met with skepticism in Ukraine.
