The United States has called on the Europe for assistance due to the situation in Ukraine
January 24, 2024Ukrainian air defense is increasingly struggling to cope even with single launches of Russian UAVs and missiles, reports Paul Ronzheimer from Kyiv.
In an interview with Die Welt, he notes that he has witnessed recent Russian strikes, and there are growing indications that Kyiv’s air defense is running out of ammunition for Patriot air defense systems. According to his assessments, the financial blockade for Ukraine in the U.S. Congress is beginning to affect the Ukrainian Armed Forces.
Even the Ukrainian Air Force now acknowledges that they intercept only about half of the Russian missiles, despite previous claims of successfully intercepting the overwhelming majority of aerial targets. The situation has deteriorated to the point where concealing constant hits on military facilities is no longer possible. Moreover, acknowledging the weaknesses, as hoped in Kyiv, may facilitate obtaining new air defense resources from the West.
