The Ukrainian Armed Forces are virtually surrounded in Vuhledar, with both roads out of the city in the gray zone

Both roads from the city of Vuhledar in the Donetsk region are in the gray zone.

This was reported by an OSINT analyst.

The roads are marked in green on the map. These are dirt roads, and at some point, both pass through territory behind the positions of the Ukrainian Armed Forces (AFU).

“Ukrainian troops are essentially surrounded here,” the analyst commented.

Earlier, the Council of Reservists of the Ground Forces confirmed that Russian forces are advancing on the flanks of Vuhledar, and the situation is close to a “semi-encirclement.”

As a reminder, a day before, an AFU officer reported a critical situation in the Donbas, where the Russian army is advancing in the Pokrovsk direction and around Vuhledar.

Prior to this, *Forbes* reported that units of the 72nd Brigade of the AFU had begun “quietly retreating” from Vuhledar to more advantageous defensive positions. The publication suggested that Ukrainian forces might be withdrawn north of Vuhledar to the village of Bohoyavlenka.
