The Ukrainian Armed Forces claim that Russian troops control 40% of Chasiv Yar

The Russian army controls 40% of the city of Chasiv Yar in the Donetsk region.

This was stated by Andriy Polukhin, a representative of the 24th Separate Mechanized Brigade of the Ukrainian Armed Forces.

He noted that if the city is captured, Russia will gain a tactical advantage on a height that overlooks Kostiantynivka, Druzhkivka, Kramatorsk and the logistic route between them.

“This will be very dangerous in terms of advancing their success in capturing the Donetsk region within its administrative borders,” Polukhin said.

It should be noted that on the Deep State map, Russian presence is marked only in the easternmost part of the city beyond the canal, which is clearly less than 40% of the entire city.

Earlier, it was reported that Russian forces crossed the water canal in Chasiv Yar and started fighting in the Zhovtnevyi district of the city.
