‘The Ukrainian Armed Forces explain the failure of the counteroffensive by a shortage of ammunition’, – CNN journalist Hauer says

Ukrainian soldiers believe that the counteroffensive has turned into a failure due to a shortage of ammunition.

This information was shared on the social media platform X (formerly known as Twitter) by Neil Hauer, a correspondent for CNN who had been in the combat zone.

According to his account, all Ukrainian soldiers he spoke with during his trips to the frontlines in Donbas and Zaporizhia claim that the main problem they are facing is a shortage of ammunition.

Ask any Ukrainian serviceman (as I have, repeatedly, on frontline visits in Donbas and Zaporizhzhia for the past year and a half) and they will tell you ammo is the biggest issue. They had a lot for this offensive and it won't be repeated soon, and goals weren't achieved.

The journalist noted that a significant number of artillery shells were delivered to the troops, but it proved insufficient to achieve the goals of the operation. He added that replenishing the ammunition stockpile would take at least a year.
