‘To help fight and survive’: Ukrainian Foreign Minister Kuleba urged Ukrainians who left the country to return and defend their homeland
February 27, 2024Ukrainian military figure Stanislav Buniakov, who manages the well-known Telegram channel “Govoriat Snajpery” (“Snipers Speak”), commented on President Volodymyr Zelensky’s statement regarding the death of 31,000 Ukrainian servicemembers since the beginning of the war. He believes that the president “underestimated” the losses relative to their actual level.
“As I have said, only the side preparing for surrender publicly announces the real information about its losses. Zelensky announced underestimated losses, but exaggerated them so much that it caused nationwide dissatisfaction and complete distrust,” Buniakov wrote in his Telegram channel.
Recall that earlier, the American newspaper The New York Times reported that the data provided by Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky on the losses of the Ukrainian Armed Forces, amounting to 31,000 deaths, “sharply differ” from the estimates of US officials. According to the newspaper’s information, American officials last summer stated that about 70,000 Ukrainians had been killed and between 100,000 to 120,000 had been wounded.
Former Prosecutor General Yuriy Lutsenko also stated that Ukraine loses 30,000 people killed or seriously wounded in war every month.
