23.07.2024 12:35The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine has once again extended martial law and general mobilization for another 90 days.
The corresponding bills, which were officially registered in parliament by President Volodymyr Zelensky today, were supported by 339 and 338 deputies, respectively.
The legal regime of martial law will now be in effect until November 9.
This marks the twelfth time the Verkhovna Rada has extended martial law.

It is important to note that martial law is not equivalent to declaring war. According to international law, a war is declared through an address to one’s own people or the authorities of the opposing state, the international community, etc.
Previously, Zelensky stated that the hot phase of the Russian-Ukrainian conflict could be resolved diplomatically by the end of the year.
“I believe that if we are united and proceed, for example, in the format of a peace summit, we can end the hot phase of the war. We can try to do this by the end of this year,” the president said.
